MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE: THE ICONIC ROCK STARS OF THE MILLENNIUM ARE RETURNING TO THE PHILIPPINES
There is absolutely no doubt that they are one of the most legendary acts of the millennium—crafting some of the most timeless, sonically gargantuan and chart-topping hits with an unmistakably and uniquely dark, almost goth-like aesthetic that became THE fashion sense during the early 2000s. Though the band was initially together for barely over a decade, their influence on music and pop culture was cemented forever.
In fact, it never really left… the magic has always been present in the consciousness of both die-hards and those who know a thing or two about classic music.
And now, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE is taking the world and stage by storm again via an extensive world tour that’ll resurrect all those wonderfully gloomy, roof-raising anthems; and to endearingly quote one of their hits, may “Heaven Help Us,” as this is definitely an event for the books.
And of course, the Philippines will be included as one of the stops of the Black Parade.
PULP Live World is proud to confirm that MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE will be performing at the mammoth Philippine Arena in Bulacan next year, on April 25th, 2026. Though it seems quite a long way to go, serious fans can already feel the electricity in the air, as the historic gathering promises to be a night of thundering sing-alongs, exceptional musical artistry, unmatched overall production, and, of course, a more-than-healthy dose of nostalgia.
Formed in 2001 in New Jersey by original members Gerard and Mikey Way (on vocals and bass, respectively…), guitarist Ray Toro and drummer Matt Pelissier (and later on by guitarist Frank Iero), the band built quite a following independently via their 2002 debut I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love but it was their second full-length (and notably their first major label release Reprise Records) Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge that catapulted the band into newer territories of infamy and success – via colossally well-received singles “I’m Not Okay (I Promise),” “The Ghost of You” and “Helena.”
Though associated with contemporaries like The Used, Thursday, Fallout Boy and the whole “emo” movement, the band rejected the tag, and clearly, had a more sonically adventurous approach to music – which was equal parts punk rock and grandiose, made evident via their following release The Black Parade – a rock opera that had the entire world listening and loving the eyeliner. Its singles – “Famous Last Words,” “I Don’t Love You,” “Teenagers” and the massive magnum opus “Welcome To The Black Parade” – catapulted MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE to stratospheric levels of fame and success, as the song was not only considered an emo anthem, but one of the greatest and most important songs ever written by rock pundits and critics.
Manila was lucky the first time around as the band was first able to bring The Black Parade experience in 2008, and finally, the long wait for a bigger, even better MCR spectacle is finally happening during the summer of next year. General sales go live on September 7th, at 12PM PH Time onwards via TicketNet outlets, so be sure you’re ready to secure your spot on that date.
